Will always go out of my way for this place. Outstanding tacos, especially the carne asada is a full slab of steak per taco. Nice hole in the wall spot, always recommend!
I was in my teens "Mr. T" was the first place that I heard of or eaten a quesadilla. Up until my intro to Mr. Taco the only Mexican food I ate was at a famous fast food chain. The #9 quesadilla plate at Mr. Taco was a life changing experience! Corn tortilla, Chihuahua cheese, shredded lettuce, fresh onion, fresh tomato and a drizzle of crema! But, the secret sauce to the Mr. Taco quesadilla experience is that the cheese is caramelized!!! If you like your cheese more caramelized (darker) ask them and they will keep it on the flattop longer. Nobody, makes a quesadilla this magical way. When I got started going to other Mexican restaurants I was served the uninspired melted cheese between flour tortilla version. I would try to explain the caramelized cheese version countless times, but all I'd get is a shrug and a confused look. I stopped asking because I realized it's pointless. So to avoid disappointment I only order quesadillas at Mr.Taco. So people be adventurous and get past any hesitation about going to this hole in the wall quesadilla shrine and belly up to the register counter and order a #9 (cheese) or #11 (steak and cheese), guaranteed you'll have a paradigm shift in your quesadilla game, oh yeah!!!
Tacos are very good all made fresh in your face! Steak quesadillas are my favorite. Service is good friendly staff and fast. That place is small but leaves a big impact.
The legendary. The venerable THE Mr. taco. So many are put off by this little shack on the side of the road in an industrial park off Ogden. It ain't pretty. It ain't the cleanest. And it sure isn't healthy. But these are some of the best mexican foods money can buy. Get the number 11. I don't care if it's more expensive now, get the number 11. The perfection of the greasy cheese and excessive meat dripping on the mole rice as you eat this monstrosity is an experience in itself. If you can't like this or find it repulsive, I truly don't understand you, and I doubt we could truly be friends. Oh the chicken tacos are great too. Don't get the burrito.
Been eating here since 1979. Get the steak quesadillas or the steak burrito with chihuahua cheese. No one does it like them. I have been to a million other Mexican fast food places and no one understands how to grill the cheese at all. I have to try and explain "do it like Mr Taco"!! An awesome late night spot for food, but just as great for lunch at noon. Put them on your list.
Ok, found myself up AND hungry at 230a....so I went to my trusty YELP and found this spot... ..now based on the pics, you will see this spot is a good choice as opposed to WC, MCD, or W.... :)
